This is a 2x life- size of the 16^th century figure, Martin Luther.  This stunning statue was a commissioned piece for a cemetery in Chicago.  Martin Luther was a German monk, Catholic priest, professor of theology and a figure of the 16^th century Protestant Reformation.  Those who identify with Luther’s teachings are called Lutherans.
